What the solution does

OCR reads scanned printed documents and images and turns recognized characters and numbers into electronic content rather than leaving them as pixels in a picture. The resulting documents can become editable and searchable. This creates an opportunity to reuse existing material without retyping an entire document from the beginning.

Sakhr OCR addresses complexities of Arabic script such as connected letters, diacritics, position-dependent shapes, overlapping characters and varied fonts. Those characteristics make input quality and representative evaluation samples particularly important. Results should be checked against material from the actual archive rather than judged using a general accuracy percentage that cannot represent every source condition.

Capabilities and practical value

Arabic character recognition

Address characteristics of Arabic script described by Sakhr rather than treating the language as disconnected characters alone.

Reusable text

Move content from an image into text that can be reviewed and used in editing or document preparation.

Content searchability

Prepare recognized text for search, with storage and indexing arrangements defined by the chosen tools and workflow.

Quality review

Compare recognition results with the original, concentrating on words and numbers that affect the meaning of the document.

A practical workflow

  1. Inspect the original

Check image clarity, page orientation and any obscured text before starting an evaluation.

  2. Run recognition

Apply the relevant OCR settings for the document type and language in the product being evaluated.

  3. Correct and reuse

Review important passages and use the text for the intended task, or discuss its place in a wider document management workflow.

Example business uses

These are illustrative scenarios, not claims of customer deployments.

Older Arabic documents

Example: obtain a first text version of printed pages stored as images, with review before reuse.

Editorial preparation

Example: recover content from scanned pages for an editing task while retaining the source image as a reference.

Search preparation

Example: assess recognized archive text for a later search process, without treating OCR alone as an archive management system.

Choosing the right scope

Recognition quality depends on source material, font and image conditions. No fixed accuracy rate, handwriting capability or universal format or font support is assumed without testing the relevant edition.
